Why subscribe?

Subscriptions are open to anyone interested in starting a career in international affairs, whether it be students, graduates or young professionals.

The newsletter is issued monthly (usually on the first Thursday of the month) and contains several hundred internships, traineeships, fellowships, and entry-to-early-career positions.

While containing a significant amount of concrete opportunities, the newsletter’s main objective is to showcase the vast options within the IR domain and inspire those starting a career in the field on where to look and what to look for. It should not constitute a replacement for individual research during the job hunt; it is just an inspiration.

Free vs. Paid Subscription

In short: paid subscriptions are optional; you can access all content for free.

In slightly longer: keeping the newsletter accessible and demonetised has always been a priority for me, as my ambition has always been that anyone, no matter their financial situation, should be able to benefit from sound guidance.

In the past, I have heavily used LinkedIn Articles and Newsletters, but as the platform has grown increasingly problematic for creators, continued use has been hampered by the risks of losing my account.

To offset this, I have decided to go off-platform, using the IRCareerStarters Website and Substack as an alternative to risking my personal LinkedIn profile and, thus, my professional network. 

This sadly means that on top of a significant time investment, I now have to cover costs for hosting, domain, etc. As such, I have made two options available for anyone wanting to support these efforts: a substack paid subscription and a buy me a coffee donate option: both are entirely voluntary, and neither yields any form of benefits; all content remains free and open-access.
